Develco acknowledges and accepts its social responsibility as a company. We have a CSR policy, in which we commit to act in a globally and socially responsible way, taking into consideration human rights, social and working conditions, the environment and climate change issues.
UN GLOBAL COMPACT
Develco follows the principles issued by UN Global Compact, which is a global initiative launched in 1999. The objective of UN Global Compact is to involve private enterprises and make them contribute towards solving some of the substantial social and environmental challenges which follow in the wake of the globalization. Today UN Global Compact is one of the largest voluntary global networks for companies engaged in Corporate Social Responsibility CSR.
Global Compact consists of ten fundamental principles for how a company should handle human rights, labour rights, the environment and anti-corruption. The principles should be used as a framework for the way companies handle the social and environmental challenges which they encounter. Develco has committed itself to making the ten principles part of our business activities and to report on the progress of our efforts to Global Compact.
We develop energy-saving systems and products with a low overall energy consumption and minimal stand-by consumption in order to reduce the strain on the environment. We also comply with the rules and procedures for safe disposal of waste and for a higher rate of recycling. This goes for both: our daily operations and for the eventual disposal of products developed by Develco. Being an environmentally friendly company, we strive to reduce the current and future impact of our operations on the environment and depletion of natural resources, as much as possible.
COMMUNICATION ON PROGRESS
As a member of Global Compact, Develco publishes its report, the so-called Communication on Progress, once a year. The report describes what Develco does to improve the conditions listed in Global Compact’s ten principles.
