If you wish to start immediately with implementing your wireless communication, Develco can offer a radio module, which can be used at different frequencies (primarily 868MHz but also 315, 433, 779 and 916MHz).
The reason for developing this module was our participation in a EUDP project where a large amount of data had to be collected from a large amount energy meters in a simple an effective way. It was emphasized that the module should also be applicable in other types of devices.
The module is based on Texas instrument’s CC430 range of ultralow power microcontroller system-on-chip (SoC). There has also been developed a proprietary protocol, which uses two-way communication for exchanging short messages. The protocol makes it possible to connect more than 1.000 notes in a network.
The module is appropriate to use, if you wish to have long distance communication for small amounts of data and where the energy consumption is an important factor. This could for example be light sensors and temperature sensors.
It is possible to use the module as it is, but Develco can also help implementing the design in your construction.
