Learned Electronics at an Early Stage
In the development team we have employed Søren Skjødt Mikkelsen as a new Hardware Engineer to develop hardware for the customized products with electronics, embedded software, wireless communication, and Internet of Things IoT.
Born into an Electronics Family
Søren’s father was a radio mechanic with his own radio shop in Hedensted. In the shop Søren helped with cleaning of video machines, service visits to private customers, looking after the shop etc. Since childhood Søren has always been interested in electronics, and therefore he had no doubt that that he wanted to have an education within electronics.
At first Søren was educated as an electronics technician in an internal team of apprentices at Bang & Olufsen. Afterwards he continued to study for a diploma engineer in Electronics at Aarhus University. At the university Søren got his first experience as a fully educated electronics engineer. He worked on a project with development of electronics for a capacitive stretch sensor for the foot to measure the bending of the arch.
Back to Bang & Olufsen and the World of Sound
After the university job Søren got a job as a Hardware Designer at Bang & Olufsen Medicom, where he developed and tested embedded electronics for medico products. Primarily injection products for medical treatment of patients with various diagnoses. When the opportunity arose for a job as an Electronics Engineer at TC Electronic, Søren did not hesitate to apply back to the world of sound. At TC Electronic Søren designed and tested hardware for guitar pedals.
The many years within sound have given Søren so much experience that he has developed his own private speakers.
Great Passion for Electronics and Hardware
“When TC Electronic was reorganized at the beginning of 2025, the time had come for me to say goodbye to the world of sound. I knew that I wanted to continue working with my great passion for electronics and hardware. Already during my first job interview at Develco I got a good feeling about the development house. I am happy to have landed as a Hardware Engineer at Develco. It is great to work in a smaller company with nice colleagues, control of things, and all the equipment which we need for the development of the customers’ new electronics products. The fact that Develco also has an in-house SMT assembly machine for assembly and production of prototypes is perfect for a passionate electronics engineer like me“, says Søren Skjødt Mikkelsen at Develco.
