Experienced NPI Engineer for Develco’s Production Management

After completion of development projects Develco offers to manage the production of the customers’ electronics products. In order to strengthen the production management Develco has employed the experienced NPI Engineer Poul Torp with a 15-year background in New Product Introduction NPI.

Poul Torp is educated as a mechanic in electronics from the air force and has continuously supplemented his education with relevant courses including software programming in C++ and Automated Optical Inspection AOI with test of lighting technology and software in cameras. Poul has a very wide experience within NPI, electronics production, and test of electronics products from well-known companies such as Vestas, PR Electronics, and Terma. Most recently Poul comes from Terma, where he was employed as a technician in the department Technical Manufacturing Engineering, partly within Space and partly within Small Mounted Devices SMD with process responsibility for F35 fighter jets. At Terma, Poul has been the link between development and production, where he has made reviews of designs for production readiness and started electronics production. At PR Electronics, Poul has been employed as a Production Manager and an NPI Engineer, just as he participated in the starting of an NPI department at Vestas. From a previous employment at Cyncrona, Poul has a large industry knowledge of electronics production at Electronic Manufacturing Services EMS and at large industrial companies such as Grundfos and Danfoss.

“In my new job as an NPI Engineer at Develco, I look forward to contributing with my extensive process knowledge and experience within New Product Introduction NPI and electronics production. I have worked a lot with reviews on CAD layouts and production processes (Small Mounted Devices SMD and Through Hole Technology THT), just as I am used to advice customers about electronics production. In Develco’s production management, I will focus on quality, production readiness, and production resources and make a difference for the customers when their new technology products are to be produced. In my spare time when I do not work with Develco’s many customer projects, I will look forward to recharging the batteries in my job as an instructor in the local sports association with indoor cycling, crossfit, and mountain biking“, says Poul Torp.
