The threat of hacking your company’s business-critical data from IoT devices, Cloud solutions, ERP systems, etc. has increased. Many companies have already experienced cyber-attacks where they have lost sensitive data and know the extent of the task of reconstructing the company’s business data and IT systems.
For these reasons EU has initiated various laws and security measures in relation to Cybersecurity among others:
- Network and Information System Directive 2/NIS2 – with requirements for improved Cybersecurity – applicable from 1st July 2025
- Cyber Resilience Act CRA – with requirements for Cybersecurity in hardware and software products with digital elements – with expected putting into force from 11th December 2027

In the development of secure wireless communication we focus on the requirement for testing of your new electronics products according to applicable product standards in your industry so that they at the same time can meet the legal requirements for Cybersecurity. With for instance the protocol Transport Layer Security TLS we can encrypt your sensitive and critical business data collected from hardware devices for further data transmission via wireless communication protocols to Cloud solutions.
Most products with wireless communication must comply with EU’s Radio Equipment Directive RED, with requirement for increased Cybersecurity, protection against fraud, and protection of personal data.
For compliance with EU’s RED for Cybersecurity different standards are applicable depending on your industry and your products. Examples of applicable standards for Cybersecurity are:
- EN 18031-1 – a harmonised standard with essential requirements for safety of electrical and electronics products having radio communication connected to the Internet.
- EN 303 645 – a cybersecurity certification for IoT devices with requirements for unique passwords, secure storage of sensitive data, and software updates
