Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Nicklas first completed a diploma education as an electronics engineer at Aarhus University before continuing his studies with a master’s degree in electrical engineering. Even as a diploma engineer student Nicklas found hardware the most engaging field of study, as it offered the opportunity to work with a wide variety of tasks. During his master’s program, he deepened his interest in hardware by focusing on integrated circuits and high-frequency wireless communication.
Hardware Experience Already from His Internship
As a part of his electronics engineering degree, Nicklas completed a six-months internship at the development company Leantoo, where he worked on development of a pager for security personnel in large shopping malls. With the pager the security personnel could receive alarm notifications such as shoplifting of wares from the mall’s stores. After successfully completed engineering studies, Nicklas was employed by Danfoss Power Solutions on the island of Als. For almost four years, he developed controls for mobile hydraulics featuring Functional Safety and TÜV certification for Agriculture e.g. tractors and combine harvesters and for Off Highway sector e.g. cranes. During the employment at Danfoss, Nicklas was certified in Functional Safety at TÜV Syd.

I have now returned “Home to Aarhus”, where I have friends and family. At the same time, I am again employed in a development company, where I can work with electronics development from the initial idea to a fully developed product. Besides, my wishes for various challenges with electronics / hardware and wireless communication are met in product development of electronics products,”, says Nicklas Drejergaard Larsen.
”When I am not focused on hardware development at Develco, I spend a large part of my spare time on sport playing squash at elite level with a high placing at Denmark’s ranking list, running half-marathons, and cycling,”, continues Develco’s new, sports-loving Hardware Engineer.
